Cold forging is a kind of non cutting metalworking process, that is the shaping of metal using localized external compression forces by molds to form the parts needed.
The characteristics of cold forging process:
1. Cold forging is performed at normal temperature. The mechanical performance of metal part can be improved by cold forging.
2. Cold forging technology can increase the usaging of material, reduce raw material waste. It's a manufacutring process base on shaping of using compression forces to acheive less cutting or non cutting process. Normally, the material utilization can be over 85%,  larger than 99% of maximum.
3. The productivity can be improved. The time used for deformation and process are much shorter, especially manufacturing parts in the multistep forming machine, the productivity can be greatly improved.
4. Cold forging can improve the surface finish and assure the precision of products.
